Borussia Monchengladbach are set to offer a new contract to Manchester United linked midfielder Patrick Herrmann to secure his future at Borussia-Park.

The 24-year-old is a key member of the Gladbach squad and the club believe he has a major role to play for them in the future.

With his contract expiring in the summer of 2016, it emerged yesterday that Gladbach were thinking about selling the midfielder at the end of the season if they are unable to agree a new deal with the player.

However, according to German magazine Kicker, the club hierarchy have redoubled their efforts to agree an extension and are now working on offering a new contract to Herrmann to secure his future.

It has been speculated the player himself is keen to consider his future and with Manchester United interested in him, it has been claimed that he is thinking about moving to the Premier League.
