Arsenal are prepared to offer £4.4m for Internacional’s Chilean international midfielder Charles Aranguiz this summer.
Alexis Sanchez was not the only Chilean on Arsene Wenger’s radar at the end of last season and he did watch Aranguiz in action for the national team during the World Cup in Brazil.
The midfielder’s dogged displays for Chile impressed the Frenchman and since then he has been tracking his progress at Internacional, whom he joined in August last year on a permanent deal.
With 31 international caps to his name, the Chilean was also declared the Player of the Tournament of the 2014 Campeonato Gaucho as Internacional won the tournament for a record 43rd time.
Wenger is keen to bring the midfielder to the Emirates this summer and according to Chilean daily La Tercera, he is willing to offer £4.4m to Internacional to secure Aranguiz’s services.

However, the Brazilian outfit are reluctant to lose their influential midfielder, who still has more than three years left on his contract, and are willing to hold on to him until their asking price of around £5m is met.
