Tottenham Hotspur have agreed a deal with 1.FC Koln for the signature of Austrian international defender Kevin Wimmer, according to German magazine Kicker.

Spurs have been tracking the defender’s progress at the Rhein Energie Stadion for some time and the Bundesliga outfit did knock back an enquiry for him from Mauricio Pochettino’s men during the winter window.

However, it has been claimed Tottenham continued to pursue the Austrian defender and now they have managed to reach an agreement for the Austrian international with Koln.

The deal agreed is believed to be around €6m to €7m and the player will officially arrive at White Hart Lane this summer after completing the season in Germany.

It has been claimed that Wimmer was given permission by Koln to travel to England towards the fag end of January, presumably to agree a contract with the north London side.
