Bayern Munich have entered the race for Manchester United target and Wolfsburg playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, who is set to sign a new and improved contract next month.

Louis van Gaal, it has been claimed, wants to take the former Chelsea man back to England at the end of the season and add his creative talents to his Manchester United squad for next season.

Paris Saint-Germain are also keeping a close eye on De Bruyne and are believed to be eyeing a summer move for the Belgian international. But now he has new suitors.

De Bruyne’s exploits in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg have now caught the imagination of the most successful club in Germany – Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians are worried about replacing their ageing stars Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery and according to Sport Bild they believe that De Bruyne has the talent and the experience to solve that issue for them.

Wolfsburg have made it clear that the club are not putting the Belgian on the market as they want him to spearhead their possible Champions League campaign next season.

However, it has been claimed that Bayern Munich are willing to wait one more season to get their man and are also ready to reach deep into their pockets to get the deal done for De Bruyne.

It has also emerged that Wolfsburg have prepared a new contract for the Belgian that will increase his salary substantially and he is expected to put pen to paper on the new deal next month.

Though the expiry date of 2019 is expected to remain unchanged in the new deal, the club are hoping that the pay rise will keep De Bruyne’s suitors away for a while.
