Hull City striker Abel Hernandez is being tracked by the Tigers' Premier League rivals Newcastle United and West Ham, according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato.

The Uruguayan joined Hull last summer from Italian side Palermo, costing the KC Stadium outfit a fee of around £10m and penning a three-year deal.

However, Hernandez has failed to hit the ground running in England, managing just four goals in the Premier League so far this term and being reduced to bit-part appearances in recent weeks.

Hernandez did play all 90 minutes against Chelsea last weekend, and scored in a 3-2 defeat, but it is thought Hull may be open to allowing him to leave in the summer.

And if he does so, he could remain in England, with interest from Newcastle and West Ham.

Both Premier League clubs are watching Hernandez's situation at the KC Stadium with interest as they ponder a summer swoop.

Hernandez could put on a show for his suitors this coming summer when he is expected to be part of the Uruguay squad for the 2015 Copa America in Chile.

The striker has 18 caps and eight goals for his country to his name.
