Arsenal defender Calum Chambers is delighted with the way 2014 turned out for him and has vowed to keep improving in the future.

Chambers, a product of Southampton’s youth academy, moved to the Emirates Stadium at the start of the current season and he has found his way into Arsene Wenger’s first team with regularity.




The 20-year-old has made 35 appearances in all competitions so far for the Gunners, playing his part in helping the Arsenal climb to third in the table as they appear strong contenders for a top four finish come the season’s end.

A right-back by trade, Chambers' adaptability has enabled him to play at the heart of the defence whenever Wenger has called upon his services in the absence of Arsenal’s first choice centre-halves.
 


And the youngster, who has been called up by Gareth Southgate for the England Under-21 squad during the ongoing international break, is pleased with the way things turned out for him last year, which saw him make his Champions League debut as well as England senior team debut – he has been capped three times by the Three Lions.

“It’s been a whirlwind and a mad start to my Arsenal career but I’ve really enjoyed it”, he was quoted as saying by the FA.

“I made my debut in the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League and the England senior team.

"So it’s been pretty mad and I’m really pleased with how I’ve done and I just want it to keep going.”
