Following Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Ryan Mason’s selection for the England squad, team-mate Kyle Walker has advised the duo to continue with what they have been doing at the club in the national team.

Kane and Mason’s heroics for Maurico Pochettino’s Spurs this season have seen the duo called up by Roy Hodgson for England's Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania tonight and their subsequent friendly against Italy due to be played on 31st March.

The duo are products of Tottenham’s youth academy and their stellar performances this season have helped Spurs climb to seventh in the Premier League and kept the side in the hunt for a spot in the Champions League.

Walker, who is also part of the national team for their upcoming fixtures, feels that the duo are mature enough do the right thing in the national set-up and he has advised them to keep doing what they do at the club in order to succeed in England colours.

“They are both mature and you can see that in their performances here at Spurs”, Walker said in an interview with his club’s site.

“The main thing is to keep their feet on the floor and to keep doing what they are doing.

“When I first got into the England squad, there was myself and Jack Wilshere as the younger players amongst the likes of Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Michael Dawson – there were a lot of senior players.

“All you can do is try to continue what you’ve been doing at club level, keep doing what has got you there in the first place and then hopefully your class will shine through.”
