Inter Milan are tracking both Bayern Munich custodian Pepe Reina and Liverpool-linked Genoa shot stopper Mattia Perin as Roberto Mancini looks to solve their goalkeeping issues in the summer.

Mancini is keen to offload Samir Handanovic in the summer transfer window and is looking to add a quality goalkeeper to their squad for next season.

The Italian has drawn up a long list of targets who are being extensively scouted by Inter scouts as the former Manchester City boss ponders on his final decision.

Genoa custodian Perin is the club’s primary target as they believe the young Italian will solve the club’s goalkeeping issues for a number of years to come – but his price is a problem for Inter.

Perin has a asking price of around €15m and Inter are also set to face stiff competition from Liverpool, who have been tracking the goalkeeper for a number of months now.

Therefore Inter are looking at alternative targets and the name of former Liverpool goalkeeper Reina has again cropped up in discussions at the San Siro.

Reina has played only once for Bayern Munich this season and is believed to be ready to make a move after spending just one season in Germany.

According to Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, the Spaniard is available this summer at a knockdown price of around €2.5m, a much cheaper option for Inter.

Given Inter’s financial concerns, the club are pondering whether they should sign the more experienced but cheaper Reina or go toe-to-toe with Liverpool for Perin at the end of the season.
