Arsenal starlet Chuba Akpom has joined Championship side Nottingham Forest on a loan deal until the end of May.

Schooled at Arsenal’s youth academy, the England Under-20 international has made seven first team appearances this season for the Gunners and even has a Premier League assist to his name.

The 19-year-old striker had loan spells at Brentford and Coventry last season and is currently with England Under-20 set-up. He scored in Wednesday’s friendly against Mexico and went on to score in the penalty shoot-out as England emerged as winners.

The Arsenal starlet will be with Dougie Freedman’s men at the City Ground until the end of May and look to gain some more first team experience in the second tier of English football before he returns to the Emirates in the summer.

A highly-rated forward at Arsenal, Akpom will be available for selection ahead of Nottingham Forest’s Good Friday clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
