Arsenal legend Ian Wright has urged Arsene Wenger to do all he can to sign Raheem Sterling from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Sterling has yet to sign a new contract at Liverpool and has opted to put any fresh discussions on an extension on hold to the summer, amid talk that the Reds are unwilling to break the bank to keep the forward.

Arsenal have been linked with moving for Sterling and Wright believes that Wenger should spend whatever it takes to ensure that the England international is playing his football at the Emirates Stadium next season and then play him in whatever position he chooses.

The former striker wrote on Twitter: "Come on Arsene! Go in and get "Raheem the dream Sterling" from Liverpool and play him where he wants!"

Arsenal, who sit third in the Premier League at present, are on course for Champions League qualification next season, something Sterling's Liverpool may miss out on.

The Reds are five points behind fourth placed Manchester United and have just eight games to make up the difference.

However, the Reds could taste success in the FA Cup, currently being in the quarter-final and needing to beat Blackburn Rovers to reach the semi-final and book a trip to Wembley.

Sterling has netted ten goals in 43 games in all competitions for Liverpool so far this season.
