Colombian striker Radamel Falcao has insisted that he is confident of convincing Manchester United to keep him at the club beyond the summer.

Falcao joined the club last summer on a loan deal until the end of the season from Monaco and has scored just four goals this term for the Red Devils.

Manchester United have the option to make the move permanent for a transfer fee of around €53m at the end of the season, but the club are yet to make a decision on his future at Old Trafford.

Falcao has scored three goals for Colombia in recent international friendlies against Bahrain and Kuwait and feels that playing two back-to-back games has helped him to find some rhythm and form.

The Colombian superstar was used as a late substitute in Manchester United’s wins over Tottenham and Liverpool, but he feels the international break has made him more confident about the rest of the season.

“I said before I need minutes, I need to play games in a row and here in the national team I have had the opportunity”, Falcao told Sports 360.

“Since I scored and I am now returning to Manchester with more confidence."

Though he admits that the decision on his future will be taken with his interests in mind, Falcao is confident that he can convince Manchester United about his presence at Old Trafford beyond the summer.

“I am sure that I can manage that [to convince Manchester United to keep me] and when the season finishes I am going to sit and think about my future and what is the best for my career.”
