Real Madrid full-back Fabio Coentrao admits that it would be a privilege for him to play for Manchester United in the future.

It has been claimed this week that the Red Devils are ready to rekindle their interest in the Portuguese left-back this summer to provide competition to Luke Shaw at Old Trafford.

Manchester United have already tried once and failed to sign Coentrao in 2013, but it has been claimed that the club are expected to launch a renewed bid to take him to England at the end of the season.

Coentrao admits that he was interested in joining Manchester United in the past and stressed that it would be an honour for him if he is handed the opportunity to wear the colours of one of the biggest clubs in the world.

"I've expressed interest in going there before”, Coentrao told Portuguese daily O Jogo.
