Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has revealed that the Premier League suits him to perfection, adding that the English game has greatly improved all aspects of his game.

De Gea joined Manchester United from Spanish La Liga giants Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2011 and he has gone on to become a first team regular since.

The Spaniard has been instrumental in the Red Devils’ goal this season; his performances have helped Louis van Gaal’s side climb to fourth spot in the table as they attempt a return to the Champions League after a year’s absence.

Talking about his time in England, De Gea has said that the Premier League has been a great learning curve for him and during the course of his close to four years at Old Trafford, he has improved in all aspects of his game.

“Truth be told, English football has changed me a great deal”, he said in an interview with FIFA.

“I was very young when I came here, but four years on, things are very good overall.

“This league really suits me, as you learn a lot here.”

De Gea has been tipped to be Iker Casillas’ replacement for the Spanish national team once the veteran custodian hangs up his gloves.
