Real Madrid have entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder and Liverpool linked Javier Pastore.

While there has been talk of PSG looking to extend the Argentine’s contract, Pastore is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal and his current contract runs out in the summer of 2016.

Though both the club and the player are interested in continuing their association, nothing is official yet, which has given encouragement to Pastore’s suitors.

While Liverpool have been linked with keeping a close eye on the 25-year-old since last summer, Pastore has a new suitor in the form of European champions Real Madrid.

His impressive performances at the Parc des Princes this season have attracted the attention of the Real Madrid hierarchy and the club are now laying down the foundations for a summer move for the Argentine.

According to Spanish daily El Mundo Deportivo, Los Blancos have sent their representatives to the United States, where Pastore is currently on national duty with Argentina and are expected hold talks with the player’s agent.

With little more than a year left on his contract, PSG are under pressure to offer a fresh deal as soon as possible to keep Pastore out of the clutches of the likes of Real Madrid and Liverpool.
