England captain Wayne Rooney believes that the emergence of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane this season has been exciting for English football.

Kane scored his first goal for the Three Lions within a minute of his introduction against Lithuania on Friday, the fastest debut strike by any England player since the Second World War.

Scoring 29 goals for Tottenham this season, Kane has been a revelation and has already been tipped for the Player of the Year awards at the end of the campaign.

The England captain is excited about the emergence of Kane this term and said that the players are excited about training with the Tottenham striker in the Three Lions set-up.

Rooney also feels that it is good news for English football that an English striker is setting the Premier League alight with his performances and goals and is making the whole world take notice of his talents.
