Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has revealed that defender Mats Hummels has told the club he is considering his future.

Hummels has been consistently linked with Manchester United in recent months and is all but certain to miss out on the Champions League next season given Borussia Dortmund's poor Bundesliga campaign which saw the club flirt with relegation during the first half of the season.

The defender admitted recently that if he wants to head abroad he will have to take a decision quickly. And Watzke admits that Hummels is giving serious thought to his next move.

The Borussia Dortmund CEO was quoted as saying by O Jogo: "Mats had a conversation with Michael Zorc [the sporting director] and me two weeks ago, when he informed us that he is thinking about his future."

BVB boss Jurgen Klopp is keen to keep hold of Hummels this coming summer, but may be forced to reassess the situation if the defender asks to leave.
