Arsenal forward Theo Walcott feels that the youngsters in the England national team fold and their performances in the Euro 2016 qualifiers give him great confidence for the future.

England have enjoyed a stellar Euro 2016 qualifying campaign, having won all five of their qualifying outings thus far. Combining their two friendly wins over Norway and Scotland with their qualifiers means that England are on seven-match winning streak following their Word Cup debacle.

Roy Hodgson’s side comprises of young players in all areas of the pitch with strikers such as Danny Welbeck and Tottenham Hotspur sensation Harry Kane. The midfielders include green horns like Ryan Mason, Ross Barkley and in defence they have youngsters Ryan Bertrand and Kyle Walker amongst others.

And Walcott feels that the relative youth of the Three Lions combined with their sparkling form suggests that they can be expected to do great things in the future including at Euro 2016 scheduled to be held in France next summer.

“We have a lot of competition in this squad, and that’s what you want, it’s healthy and it gives the manager a headache to pick the best line-up”, he told the FA.
