Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost has revealed that the shabby way the club treated him before the winter break will play a major role if he decides to leave them in the summer.

Eleven of his 13 league goals this season have come after the winter break and his performances have catapulted Wolfsburg to second in the league table behind Bayern Munich.




With impressive performance have come interest from other clubs and the likes of Newcastle United, and Southampton are keen to take him to England in the summer.

Stoke City and Swansea are also tracking his performances in Germany and though Wolfsburg are reluctant to lose the striker, Dost revealed that he hasn’t forgotten the shabby treatment he received before the winter break.
 


The Dutchman made only six appearances before the winter break and spent most of his time out of their matchday squad. It was only towards the end of the first half of the season that he did he cement his spot in the first eleven at Volkswagen Arena.

“It all looks nice now, but I won’t forget the period before 6th December”, Dost told RTV Drenthe.

“I had to spent long hours on the stands; I will definitely weigh in that period when I will make my choice about my future.”
