Franck Ribery has expressed his doubts about whether Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin De Bruyne would be a good signing for Bayern Munich.

Former Chelsea midfielder De Bruyne has been pulling up trees in the Bundesliga with the Wolves and as such has earned links to a number of Europe's biggest clubs, a group which includes Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.

Ribery though is unsure whether De Bruyne would fit into Bayern Munich's style of play, despite the fact he rates the Belgian midfielder, feeling that at Wolfsburg he is given time and space to play, which would not be the case at the Allianz Arena.

"He's a great player", Ribery explained to German daily Bild.

"But when I look at him, I realise that he is different from Arjen [Robben] and me. He is not a player who looks to dribble and who likes to have an opponent in front of him.

"De Bruyne is very good against an attack, but at Bayern you never have more than three or four metres – space is limited."

De Bruyne has helped Wolfsburg to second spot in the Bundesliga at present, just behind Ribery's Bavarians, and the Wolves are firmly on course to qualify for next season's Champions League.

The Wolves appear unlikely to overhaul Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga though, with just eight games left to play and ten points separating the two teams.
