Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto has not ruled out reuniting with Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone in the near future amidst talk of a possible transfer in the summer.

Vietto joined Spanish La Liga side Villarreal at the start of the current season from Argentine Primera Division outfit Racing Club after spending three seasons with the Avellaneda-based club.

The 21-year-old has taken to his first season in Europe like a duck to water, having scored 12 goals and assisted a further two in his 26 league appearances for Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side. His goals have played an instrumental role in helping the Yellow Submarine stay in the hunt for a spot in Europe next season.

And his stellar debut campaign has seen him strongly linked with a move to several European giants including Premier League outfits Liverpool and Manchester United, as well as Spanish sides Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.

Vietto spent some time under Simeone’s management when the current Atletico Madrid manager was in charge of Racing in 2011 and the striker has not ruled out reuniting with his former boss.
