Newcastle United and Southampton are amongst four English clubs who have their transfer-target eyes on Wolfsburg’s prolific Dutch goalscorer Bas Dost.

Though he has not scored in three league games, Dost has been in prolific form for Wolfsburg this season with 13 goals in 14 Bundesliga appearances.

His goals in the German top flight have powered Wolfsburg to second in the league table, behind Bayern Munich, but his performances have also caught the imagination of clubs across Europe, including England.

Newcastle United and Southampton have been enamoured by his showings for Wolfsburg and according to Sport Bild, they are willing to pay up to €20m to get their hands on the Dutch international in the summer.

However, they are not the only English clubs after Dost as Swansea City and Stoke City are also willing to reach deep into their pockets to sign up the prolific goalscorer from Wolfsburg at the end of the season.

However, Wolfsburg are expected to knock back any offer for Dost as they are keen to hold on to the striker to build a team for a probable Champions League run next season.

Dost, who recently made his international debut for the Netherlands, also might not want to forego Champions League football in favour of moving to England in the summer.
