Celtic midfielder Liam Henderson is excited about his loan stint with Rosenborg and feels that with good performances in the Norwegian league he can stake a claim for a spot in the Hoops' starting line-up.

The announcement of Henderson’s loan deal with Norwegian Tippeligaen outfit Rosenborg came yesterday and the youngster will rejoin Celtic after the conclusion of his deal at the end of the current season.

The 18-year-old made eight Premiership appearances in his debut season for the senior Celtic side last season and scored once in the league. This season, the central midfielder has made 14 appearances in all competitions, scoring once and assisting one further goal for Ronny Deila’s side in the process.

The youngster has been tipped to have a bright future at Celtic Park, and he is looking forward to his stint in Norway, saying that it will accord him the opportunity to learn from a different league which will enable him to stake a claim in Deila’s side once he returns.

“I have always wanted to go away and play”, he told the Celtic website.
