Former Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Rafael van der Vaart has revealed that in all likelihood he will be plying his trade in the MLS next season.

The veteran Dutchman’s contract with Hamburg is set to expire this summer and the Bundesliga side have confirmed they will not look to extend his deal.

With eight games left to play in the league this season, the Hamburg captain is expected to play a key role in their battle for survival in the German top flight, but after that he is expected to leave the club.

He has been linked with a number of clubs across Europe, including Roma, but it seems the former Tottenham man is on his way to the United States to play in the MLS.

“It is not certain yet, but I am most likely to play in America”, the Dutchman was quoted as saying by Sport Mediaset.
