Former Spain defender and Barcelona legend Carles Puyol is considering an offer from MLS side Colorado Rapids.

The defender retired from football last summer and took up the role of assistant sporting director at Barcelona.

However, the Barcelona legend resigned from the post in January this year. According to Madrid-based Marca, he is considering an offer to come out of his retirement and play for MLS side Colorado Rapids.

After leaving Barcelona this year, the Spaniard has settled in New York and is now actively thinking about returning to football.

It has been claimed that the former defender has recovered from the injury problems that plagued him towards the end of his career at Barcelona and he feels time is right for him to start playing again.

The Spaniard is expected to study the offer from the MLS side more carefully over the next few weeks before making any commitment to come out of retirement.

Puyol won six La Liga titles and three Champions League crowns, amongst various other honours with Barcelona.

He also won the World Cup and the European Championship with Spain.
