Chelsea winger Willian has lavished praise on manager Jose Mourinho, saying that the Portuguese has played a big part in the Blues’ success this season.

The Pensioners are currently sitting atop the Premier League, seven points clear of nearest rivals Arsenal – Mourinho’s men have played a game fewer than the Gunners.

Chelsea have already won the League Cup following their win over Tottenham Hotspur in the final last month, and their strong position in the league suggests that they can finish the season with two trophies in tow.

And Willian, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala at the start of the 2013/14 season, feels that Mourinho has played a big part in Chelsea’s success this term.

“He is a great manager and he gives confidence, he gives everything to the players and we try to win all the games”, the Brazilian told Chelsea TV.

“He explains what we have to do on the pitch and he is a very good coach and he has history in football so I am very happy to work with him.”

Willian has netted four times this term to go with his five assists in all competitions this season.

He will look to help the Blues seal all three points when they play Queens Park Rangers in their next league fixture at Loftus Road on Sunday.
