Aston Villa have already submitted a bid for on loan Fiorentina attacking midfielder Alessandro Diamanti, according to Italian daily La Nazione.

The Italian joined Fiorentina on a loan deal until the end of the season from Chinese outfit Guangzhou Evergrande and La Viola have the option to make the move permanent in the summer.

The 30-year-old has scored two goals in eleven appearances for Fiorentina, but the club are still undecided about making the deal permanent at the end of the campaign.

Fiorentina’s indecision has allowed Aston Villa to make their way into the equation for Diamanti. Tim Sherwood has been keeping a close eye on the former West Ham man for some time now and is keen to bring him back to England this summer.

It has been claimed that Villans have already submitted their bid to Guangzhou Evergrande and if Fiorentina decide not to sign Diamanti on a permanent deal, then Villa Park could become the Italian’s next destination.
