Cardiff City manager Russell Slade says he is well aware of the threat posed by Leeds United's impressive youngsters ahead of his side's trip to Elland Road to face the Whites tomorrow.

Leeds fell to defeat at Cardiff earlier this season, going down 3-1 in what was the first match for Neil Redfearn as permanent head coach at the club.

Redfearn has since comprehensively turned the ship around at Leeds and steered the club to mid-table safety, just one spot behind Cardiff in the Championship.

He has also presided over the continued development of the club's youngsters, with Alex Mowatt, Sam Byram and Lewis Cook especially shining.

And how far Leeds' talents have come is not lost on Slade, who expects a fierce battle for control of the ball in midfield.

"Leeds do have some strong midfielders; Alex Mowatt has great feet and has a knack of getting in and around the goals", he said via his club's site.

"They have some good young players, with Lewis Cook and Sam Byram in that group as well.

"Mowatt has a lot of games under his belt now for somebody as young as twenty, and he’ll be very dangerous", Slade added.

Cardiff head north to Yorkshire unbeaten on the road since mid-January, however they will have no fans at Elland Road due to returning their away allocation after being unhappy with the arrangements made for their supporters.
