Liverpool are involved in the race for Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka and are eyeing the Ukrainian as an alternative to PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay.

The Reds chased Konoplyanka in the January 2014 transfer window and came close to snapping him up, only for the Dnipro president to veto the deal at the last minute, leaving Liverpool high and dry.

According to Seville-based daily Estadio Deportivo, Liverpool are back at the table for Konoplyanka, whose contract with Dnipro expires at the end of the season, and are rivalling Sevilla and Spurs in the process.

Liverpool see Konoplyanka as an alternative to PSV winger Depay, a player who they are well aware is also interesting Manchester United.

Should Liverpool be priced out of the race for Depay or the winger prefer a different destination, the Reds would hope to quickly close a deal for Konoplyanka.
