Former Manchester United captain Bryan Robson believes that the current Chelsea side is akin to Red Devils sides of old and stated his belief that they will not slip up in their chase for the Premier League title this season.

Chelsea are seven points clear of Arsenal at the top of the Premier League and eight ahead of third placed Manchester United. However, the Blues have a game in hand against both clubs, which is against bottom of the table Leicester City.

Robson, whose former club play Chelsea this weekend, wants pressure to be applied on the Blues. But nevertheless he feels they will not slip up.

"If we go to Chelsea and win, then Arsenal get a really good result against them next weekend… all of a sudden there’s a lot of pressure on them", he told Manchester United's site.

"But Chelsea have only been beaten three times in the league, they’re a really difficult side to beat, so I don’t think they'll slip up enough for anybody to catch them."

And Robson says he can see shades of former Manchester United sides in Chelsea, which means they are well equipped to last the distance.

"They’re a bit like United sides from down the years – when you’re not playing well and drawing, then all of sudden somebody does something, scores a goal and nicks all three points.

"Chelsea have done that this season."

Manchester United head to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea on a run of good form, having recently beaten Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Manchester City.
