Barcelona boss Luis Enrique was pleased to see his side give a solid and consistent performance to earn their victory against Paris Saint-Germain last night.

A brace from Luis Suarez and a goal from Neymar helped the Catalan giants register a comfortable 3-1 win at the Parc des Princes and it firmly put them in the driver’s seat in their Champions League quarter-final tie.

Barcelona dominated possession and had the better of the chances on the night. Only a Jeremy Mathieu own goal gave PSG some hope ahead of the return leg at the Nou Camp next week.

Enrique was pleased with the overall performance and said that they displayed solidity and consistency in every aspect of the game to dominate the home side in the French capital.

“There are lots of ways you can describe our play”, Enrique told UEFA.

“We were focused, had possession and were good in defence. We made a lot of chances and were solid. We need to look to win the return match and avoid any surprises.

“We have been consistent in every department. We enjoyed most of the possession, like we wanted to, and we managed to vary our attacks.”

Suarez showed deadly skills and predatory instincts to bag a brace and the Barcelona boss was pleased to see one of his main forwards take centre stage but stressed that the win was down to the team performance.

“Luis Suarez was both physically strong and technically agile, but I want to stress that all my players were very good today. When we play like that, we're very difficult to beat.”
