Ahead of Sunday’s Scottish FA Cup semi-final tie against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Celtic manager Ronny Deila is expecting a difficult encounter, adding that their clash will be one of the highlights of the Hoops’ season.

Having already won the League Cup last month, Celtic will play their Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park this weekend for a chance to secure their place in the final.

And Deila said that it is a big game for his side, adding that they are fully prepared to meet the challenge posed by John Hughes’ men.

“It's a big game; we are very ready for it”, the Norwegian said at a pre-match press conference.

“This match will be one of the highlights so far this season.”

Taking his cue from his side’s 4-1 dismantling of Kilmarnock in the Premiership on Wednesday, the Celtic boss has urged his charges to play direct and penetrative football in order to create goalscoring chances and overcome the Jags’ defence.

“We have to be direct and have penetration and lots of movements.

“When it clicks, like it did late on Wednesday, we are dangerous."

The two sides went head-to-head in the league last weekend and the match ended in a 1-1 draw and Deila feels that the two teams will give a better exhibition of football than their last meeting.

“Both teams want to play football and will be a better match to watch than last week.

“Hopefully, [we will see] some more passing and more chances.”
