Manchester United and Chelsea have entered the race for the signature of Real Madrid midfielder and Arsenal target Sami Khedira, according to Madrid-based daily Marca.

The German midfielder will leave Real Madrid this summer after his contract with the club expires and there is already a long line of suitors waiting to get their hands on him.

The 28-year-old has an attractive offer on his table from Schalke but he is prepared to wait until the end of the season to decide on his future.

While Schalke’s offer is tempting, Khedira has reservations about their ability to challenge Bayern Munich’s dominance in Germany and with a club such as Arsenal also tracking him, the midfielder realises he can afford to wait.

However, Arsenal are not the only club on his trail as Manchester United and Chelsea have joined the race for Khedira’s coveted signature this summer.
