Juventus have reached an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain for the signature of Edinson Cavani, who has also been linked with a move to Manchester United and Arsenal, it has been claimed.

The Bianconeri are set to lose Carlos Tevez this summer as the former Manchester City man is believed to be keen to move back to Argentina with Boca Juniors.

Therefore, signing a top class striker has become the priority for the Italian champions and they have been on Cavani’s trail for a number of months.

Though the Uruguayan claimed earlier this week that he wants to honour his contract with PSG, it is widely believed that he is looking for a way out of the club at the end of the season.

According to Turin-based daily La Stampa, Juventus have agreed a €45m deal with PSG for the 28-year-old forward and are ready to welcome him to Italy in the summer.

It has also been claimed that they have agreed personal terms with Cavani over a five-year contract worth €5.5m per season.

However, the whole deal hinges on the premise that Juventus will be able to raise the cash by selling in-demand midfielder Paul Pogba in the summer for a hefty transfer fee.

The latest development will come as a big blow for Manchester United and Arsenal, who were both looking to bring Cavani to the Premier League at the end of the season.
