Leeds United skipper Liam Cooper insists that they cannot let their current situation get to them as they look to end the season on an optimistic note.

The Peacocks are currently on a five-match winless run, losing four consecutive games and are placed 15th in the Championship table with 52 points from 43 matches.

And as the season draws to a close with just three matches remaining to be played, the 23-year-old feels that it is time they turned things around to finish the season on an optimistic note.

The defender also took time to speak about the need for a football club to continue winning matches and the fact that they are not winning at the moment is a worrying sign.

“We aren’t winning games at the moment and it’s not nice when you aren’t winning games”, Cooper told his club's official website.

“It is always difficult but things just aren’t quite going our way at the moment. We have played some good teams, we’ve held our own but we’ve also come up short.

“We need to turn that around and start getting a few more points. There are three games left and we want to finish on a high.

“Things aren’t quite falling for us. The things that are going on around the club, we can’t let that affect us.

“At the end of the day we are a football team and we’ve got to do it for ourselves and each other. As professionals we have got to get on with our jobs and we will do that.”

Leeds are scheduled to visit the Valley tomorrow to take on 12th placed Charlton Athletic as they attempt to put together a winning run to end the season on a high note.
