Ahead of tomorrow’s FA Cup semi-final tie against Reading, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has expressed his pride with his side’s consistent performances in the FA Cup.

Wenger’s men won the FA Cup last year to end their nine-year trophy drought and have continued in the same vein this year to book their place in the semi-final of the prestigious domestic cup.

During the Frenchman’s close to 19-year reign at the north London outfit, they have reached ten FA Cup semi-finals, winning five of them.

Asked about the fact that he has often been questioned about not taking the domestic cup seriously, the 65-year-old dismissed the notion, saying that his team’s consistently good performances tell an all together different story.

"Yes, I have many times been suspected of that but my record tells how seriously we play every game”, he was quoted as saying by his club’s site.

“You do not play 10 semi-finals if you do not prepare properly for these games.

“I’m proud of that consistency.

“It’s still the same excitement in a game like that as it was in the first one.”

A win for Arsenal tomorrow would take them one step closer to their second consecutive FA Cup final and if they can win the trophy, the Gunners will become the first team to have won the domestic cup a record 12 times.
