Arsenal defender Per Mertesacker has said that he is still curious about Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the current season.

Klopp announced his decision to depart from the Ruhr outfit at the conclusion of the current season after completing seven years with the German giants.

During his time at Signal Iduna Park, Klopp guided the Black and Yellows to two successive Bundesliga titles as well as the final of the 2013 Champions League, where they ultimately finished as runners-up to Bayern Munich.

And Mertesacker has lavished praise on the 47-year-old for the work he did at BVB.

“It is his decision”, the defender was quoted as saying by ITV.
