Feyenoord have set aside a salary of €1m per season for Celtic striker John Guidetti, but the Sweden international wants between double and treble that sum.

Guidetti is a cult hero at Feyenoord, having made a big impression on the club's fans during a loan spell in the 2011/12 campaign, a period which saw him hit 20 goals in 23 Eredivisie games.

The clubs fans even started an online petition and began to collect donations when he left to put towards bringing him back to De Kuip, but injury issues for the striker meant Feyenoord looked elsewhere.

Now Feyenoord are pushing to bring Guidetti back, well aware the striker will be out of contract in the summer. He is currently under contract to Manchester City, but on loan at Celtic for the season.

According to Voetbal International and RTV Rijnmond, Feyenoord have put aside a salary of €1m per year of their budget next year for Guidetti, but the sum is not finding favour with the Swede.

Indeed, the Celtic striker is looking for between €2m and €3m per season, a sum which is well beyond Feyenoord's capabilities.

And at present Feyenoord's dream of pairing Guidetti up with Dirk Kuyt, who will arrive in the summer from Fenerbahce, is hanging by a thread.
