Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal believes Chelsea would be happy to get a draw against them later today.

Van Gaal’s men are one of the form teams of the league at the moment and are heading to Stamford Bridge on the back of a six-game winning run.

Manchester United will be able to leapfrog Arsenal into second today if they beat Chelsea on their home turf but the Dutchman admits that it is going to be a tough ask.

The Blues are yet to lose at home this season in the league and Manchester United have the worst away record amongst the current top seven of the league this term.

"The challenge is bigger than big", Van Gaal said in a press conference.

"Firstly, Manchester United has not given the best results in away games and, secondly, Chelsea do not lose so much at home. So it will be very difficult.”

Though a win for Chelsea would take them one step closer to their first league title in five years, Van Gaal is of the view that Mourinho will be happy if they manage to get a point today and preserve their unbeaten record at home.

"Chelsea play at home but I think they will be satisfied with a draw. However, of course they want to beat Manchester United and we want to beat them."

A Samuel Eto’o hat-trick helped Chelsea secure all three points against Manchester United last season at Stamford Bridge.
