Jose Mourinho says he does not care that Chelsea had such low ball possession at Stamford Bridge against Manchester United after his team won 1-0 to move a step closer towards the Premier League title.

Chelsea managed to take the lead in the 38th minute of the match, with Eden Hazard managing to take advantage of a good move from the Blues to fire them in front.

The home side quickly acted like the away side and dropped deep, allowing Manchester United to boss the game. Chelsea enjoyed only 25 per cent ball possession in the second half, the visitors enjoying 75 per cent of the ball.

Manchester United brought on both Angel di Maria and Adnan Januzaj from the bench, but despite Radamel Falcao and Wayne Rooney enjoying chances, they could not find an equaliser and slipped to a 1-0 defeat.

Chelsea enjoyed just 29 per cent of the ball, with Manchester United utterly dominating all the key stats. But for Mourinho, that was not a concern, with the Portuguese saying it was all part of his strategy.

He told Sky Sports: "It could have been 99 [per cent possession Manchester United had]. We don't care. When you play the game strategically, you don't care about stats.

"We had also a big heart for a big fight and everyone was focused on their jobs.

"I know what people can think, but football is talent and strategy is also very important some days."

Mourinho also said the match turned out as he wanted, adding: "The game was exactly the game we want. The only thing we couldn't do was to kill the game with a second goal.

"We were able to make their important players disappear. Nobody saw them. They were in our pockets."
