Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has vowed to do his best not to allow the off field issues troubling the club to affect his players.

The Whites have lurched from one crisis to another in recent months, with Redfearn not having had any word on whether he will be in charge next season, his assistant having been suspended, the club's chief operating officer quitting, his sporting director having been claimed to have resigned by the club's owner, who is serving a Football League ban, and on Friday six players declaring themselves injured at the last minute.

Leeds lost 2-1 away at Charlton on Saturday, but in the circumstances Redfearn was pleased with his side's performance.

And with just two games left to go this season, Redfearn is doing all he can to keep the show on the road and avoid implosion.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "I've got to stay strong for these lads.

"It's important that we get through this season and try to pick something up in the next couple of games.

"And to try and move up the table a little bit to put ourselves in a reasonable position", the 49-year-old added.

Leeds, who are safe from relegation worries in the Championship, have a further two games left to play this season to improve their current standing of 16th.

Both are Yorkshire derbies, with a trip to play Sheffield Wednesday and then a visit from Rotherham United.
