Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn has emphasised the importance of midfielder Rudy Austin, after he returned to action in yesterday's Championship match against Charlton Athletic.

Austin had not featured for Leeds since being sent off in an off the ball incident in the Whites' 3-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers on 4th April.

However, Redfearn quickly restored him to the side when available and Austin played in Leeds' 2-1 defeat away at Charlton on Saturday, impressing the head coach with what he brings to the table.

"He gave us that impetus and his range of passing was excellent, the number of times he switched play and picked full-backs out", Redfearn explained to BBC Radio Leeds.

"I thought we got down the sides of them really well."
