Former Netherlands international Jan Mulder feels that Memphis Depay has nothing to be afraid of in a move to England and would quickly move up a level, in a similar way to Eden Hazard at Chelsea and Robin van Persie, when he joined Arsenal.

Depay is the subject of a transfer scramble with Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain all keen on the PSV Eindhoven winger.

It has been claimed that Manchester United are in pole position for Depay, with some suggestions that a deal has already been done for the 21-year-old to move to Old Trafford in the summer.

A number of former players and coaches in the Netherlands have warned Depay against moving to England and claim he should spend a further season with PSV.

But Mulder is not in such a club and feels playing in the Premier League would hugely develop Depay.

"The same thing will happen with Depay as happned with Hazard and Van Persie", he said on Studio Voetbal.

"After six months in England, he'll be a class better."

Depay has scored 20 goals in the Eredivisie for PSV this season, driving the Eindhoven-based club to the title and ending Ajax's stranglehold on the crown.
