Leeds United are one of a clutch of clubs monitoring the situation of centre-back Nicolas Spolli at Roma.

The 32-year-old swapped Catania for Roma in the winter transfer window this year, joining the capital club on loan with a right to buy set at €1.5m.

But Spolli has kicked his heels on the sidelines at the Stadio Olimpico and is unhappy with his situation with the Giallorossi.

Clubs are alive to his plight and according to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Leeds, Sampdoria and Atalanta are all looking in Spolli's direction.

Having failed to make an impact in the capital, Roma appear unlikely to activate their purchase option on the Argentine, meaning he will return to Catania in the summer.

However, with Catania mired in mid-table in Serie B, Spolli may opt to play his football elsewhere for the 2015/16 campaign.

The defender headed to Italy in 2009 to link up with Catania from Newell's Old Boys, instantly establishing himself as a key man for the Rossazzurri.
