PSV Eindhoven general manager Toon Gerbrands has admitted that the Dutch club are expecting to earn more than €25m from the sale of Manchester United target Memphis Depay this summer.

Depay has been the architect of PSV’s title winning campaign with his 20 Eredivisie goals this season, but is expected to leave the club in the summer.

While it has been claimed that PSV have already agreed a deal to sell the winger to Manchester United, the transfer saga is expected to rumble on for a number of weeks.

Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool have been allowed to start negotiations with the player’s representatives and Manchester United have been made aware of the price it would take to take the 21-year-old away from Eindhoven.

While PSV are ready to sell the player, they are hoping to extract the best deal out of the transfer saga and it has been claimed that they are looking to receive a Dutch transfer fee record of more than €30.4m for Depay.

While the price has been a source of constant speculation, PSV general manager Gerbrands has made the club’s position clear on the fee they are expecting for the Dutch international.

“We have given an indication of the price for Depay, which is probably more than €25m”, the PSV supremo told NU.nl.

“Therefore we can have no quibbles with Depay's management [over the price].”

Gerbrands also elaborated on the way PSV want to see the negotiations pan out and said: “Depay must first reach an agreement with a club and if that club are willing to pay the transfer fee then he can leave quickly.”
