Bayern Munich have become the latest club to join the scramble for PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay, a player Manchester United are currently in pole position to capture.

Depay has just helped PSV to end Ajax's stranglehold on the Dutch title and is now expected to leave the Eindhoven-based club in the summer.

Both Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have been given permission to speak to Depay's representatives, while PSV have also confirmed contact with Manchester United.

It has been claimed in the Netherlands that a deal for the winger to join Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford is virtually complete.

But until Depay signs on the dotted line, other clubs remain hopeful of hijacking the deal.

And according to the Eindhovens Dagblad, Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich are the latest club to show serious interest in Depay.

The 21-year-old is viewed as a potentially perfect replacement for his countryman Arjen Robben, who at 31 is getting no younger.

And another Bayern Munich talisman in the form of Franck Ribery turned 32 years old earlier this month.
