Former Manchester United defender Gabriel Heinze is being eyed for a switch to the Indian Super League.

Heinze most recently turned out in his native Argentina for Newell's Old Boys and has fallen onto the radar as a possible signing for the second edition of the Indian Super League, which takes place later this year.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, Delhi Dynamos are leading the race for Heinze, while they also have another veteran defender in their sights.

That man is ex-Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Diego Lugano, who could also be tempted to play his football in India.

Lugano, 34, currently turns out in Sweden for BK Hacken, who ply their trade in the country's top flight.
