Barcelona boss Luis Enrique feels that there is more to come from his team in the Champions League and making the semi-finals was only a small part of their larger ambition of going all the way in the competition.

The Catalan giants registered a comfortable 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie last night and qualified for the last four with a 5-1 aggregate scoreline.

Two goals from Neymar before the break settled the tie which was already tilted towards the home side after their emphatic 3-1 win over PSG in Paris last week.

Enrique was pleased with the overall performance of his side and said that last night’s performance was more comprehensive than their win in France.

“It was a great start to the match for us. We'd had a good result in the first leg but tonight was definitive. We had lots of chances”, Enrique told UEFA.

The Barcelona boss said that though they expertly dismantled a great team like PSG, he is always looking to improve his team as things can quickly unravel in the competition.

He believes that there is more to come from his Barcelona side and said that merely making into the semi-finals of the Champions League is not enough for them.

“Barcelona are one of the biggest clubs in Europe, with their own distinctive style. Coaches always see things they can improve on; however, a comfortable match can quickly become complicated so we also have to watch out for things going wrong.

“I hope the best is yet to come this term. The players have worked hard all season to stay in the running for every trophy. It would be a meagre ambition just to reach the semi-finals.

“Our target, taking into account all the hard work and the players we have, is to go further. Our objective is to be better than our next opponents in the Champions League.”
