PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay met a Manchester United delegation led by Louis van Gaal on Wednesday to hold secret talks over a move to Old Trafford this summer, according to Voetbal International.
The 21-year-old Dutch international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and it is believed the club are in pole position to land him due to his relationship with Van Gaal.
However, PSV have also given permission to Liverpool and Paris Saint-German, the two other clubs who are following the winger, to hold talks with the player’s representatives over a summer move for their client.
With Liverpool and PSG doing all the leg work in the transfer saga, Manchester United stepped up on their interest in Depay and it has been claimed that a club delegation led by Van Gaal met the Dutch international on Wednesday for secret talks over a summer move to Old Trafford.
However, a deal is yet to be agreed between the club and the player and the Red Devils will face stiff competition from PSG, who have placed a very lucrative contract offer on Depay’s table.
