Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is confident that midfielder Yaya Toure will find new challenges at the Etihad Stadium, with the club trying to excel every year, rather than having to leave for a fresh start.

The Ivory Coast international has been linked with a move away from the club, with Italian outfit Inter Milan showing their keenness in securing the services of the player and have been vocal about their interest.

The 31-year-old on his part has done nothing to play down the speculation, insisting that he would not stay at a club where he feels he is no longer wanted. He also insisted that his decision would not be affected by changes in the management but by the challenges that will be offered to him.

“My decisions will not be affected by changes in management, but more by the challenges that will be offered to me", Toure told Foot Mercato earlier in the week.

However, now the Chilean has gone on to clarify that Toure is absolutely happy at the club and will find the new challenges he craves for at the Manchester-based side.

"Maybe the new challenge is at City also", Pellegrini said via his club's site.

"There are lot of different places you can have it but City also is a challenge and I am sure Yaya is very happy here.

"We have a project here, every year we are trying to improve.

"Maybe you cannot win titles every year but I think the project of the club is to improve the squad, to improve as a club so there are a lot of important things and I think it is an important challenge."
