Neil Redfearn feels that goalkeeper Stuart Taylor must take his slice of the credit pie for Leeds United beating Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 at Hillsborough today.

Leeds fell behind from the penalty spot in the first half, but two second half goals, from Charlie Taylor and Steve Morison, handed Redfearn's men all three points in the Championship encounter.

Taylor was once again between the sticks for Leeds, having played last weekend against Charlton Athletic when first choice goalkeeper Marco Silvestri ruled himself out through injury at the last minute.

And Redfearn was full of praise for the 34-year-old former Arsenal shot-stopper, stressing that he has waited for his chance to impress all season long and played a key role in the win at Hillsborough.

The head coach told BBC Radio Leeds: "I thought Stuart was excellent and what he did is he's been patient all year.

"He's been number two to Marco and Marco has played really well, but he's been patient and he's waited for his opportunity.

"He's a good professional and I thought his professionalism and his experience shone through today, at times when we had to see the game through and manage it.

"So he's got to take real credit for that."

It remains to be seen whether Taylor will keep his place for Leeds' final game of the season next weekend against Rotherham United at Elland Road.
